Brown Bag: Facilities planning

During lunch I went to a discussion about facilities planning in light of new stardards coming out of the committee. Key take-aways included:

Talk with your building manager as prjects get underway to ensure that the needs of special collections are met as best as possible during all construction or renovation projects.

Determine what your goal is for climate, etc. and then work to meet those goals, even if you fall short, this data gives you something to strive and advocate for.

As climate change continues to effect us, check what kind of flood zone you’re in to determine what kind of practices and policies you should enact.

Monitering temperature and relative humidity is key, as you work to make a case for better climate.
